Hiking Namobuddha From Dulikhel

Overview

Hike: Dhulikhel- Namobuddha-Panauti

we walk through local villages during 3 hours, to reach Namobuddha stupa after a little climb. We can go visit the Thrangu monastry from there, a supreme sacred place. It is one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal and one of the holiest in the world. It is known as the place where the Buddha, in a previous life as a prince, gave his body to a starving tigress and her cubs.

We can stroll around a bit, getting a feel for monastic life and enjoy the peaceful areas with great views. From here we walk down in direction of the Village of Panauti, through orange trees and large rice fields. Slowly coming back to urban life, we will take the bus from Panauti to Dhulikhel and end our day hike in the Innate Pension.
